18th June, 2017 is the day that will always be
remembered by the world when Virender Sehwag and Rishi Kapoor got the treatment
they deserved and oh! Yes Pakistan won the Champions Trophy 2017 final against
India, the land without toilets. Now that we are done with the formal
introduction, let’s relive some of the moments of Pakistan’s Champion Trophy
journey as we have the last laugh.
Spoiler Alert: Memes ahead.
So, it all started when Raja Jee predicted right at the start
of the tournament that it’s going to be Pakistan vs India final with Pakistan
to win. Raja Jee – YOU BEAUTY!
It’s right to say that thug life chose Raja Jee.
Now, moving on to the first match Pakistan played against the
archrivals India. Well the “manhosiyat” started when Shehzada (Ahmad)
miss-fielded for the first time in the match and he also had a partner in crime
named as Wahab Riaz famously knows for his spell against Shane Watson and that
is it. Well, Pakistan team lost that match with a combined team effort so no
individual should be blamed but as a result, Wahab was put up on eBay for sale
for $1(Australian) only by an Australian- Watto
might have taken his revenge after all. Wahab had over 50 bids with some idiot
bidding $610 on him. Recalls, OLX-Bech De.
After the worst start to the tournament and even before the
first match, most of the cricket pundits predicted against Pakistan and as a
result of which, two types of fans emerged i.e. Tm Jeeto ya Haaroo and Plastic.
Now that we have won the trophy, we can say this to the Plastics.
Moving
on, Pakistan played its next match against South Africa and the boys did a
great job but some credit must be given to the RAIN. And then we won against
SriLanka, because even though Sarfraz tried to give us Dhoka twice, the Sri Lankans had too much respect for him that they
dropped him every time. Eventually, Sarfraz and Amir gave us the victory with
Sarfraz not giving us Dhoka after all. The teams for the semi-finals were
decided and it was Pakistan, Bangladesh, England and India. The battle was
between the Goray and the
sub-continent. We
all know how that went out with Pakistan pulling off an astonishing victory
over the Goras and India beating
Bangladesh- I wonder why the Bengalis call themselves Tigers. Anyhow, they also
played some good cricket to reach the semis so well done to East Pakistan (ops).
Now comes the juicy part, the final was set to be played on 18th
June, 2017 and it was between Pakistan and India. The people who wrote Pakistan
off were having second thoughts because of the improvement Pakistan showed in
the previous matches. But before that, let’s recall some of the incidents that
made this Champions Trophy more interesting.
For example, this.
And this...
I can’t seem to get over it so finally this.. Poor Anushka.
And
before anyone says anything, I respect Virat Kholi a lot for the world class
Batsmen he is but memes are just for laugh and not to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Moving on, but wait, how, can we forget the two legends we mentioned earlier
i.e. Virender Shewag and Pishi Kapoor formerly known as Rishi Kapoor. Both of
them decided to sledge Pakistan which is fine in cricket but they crossed the
line.
Sehwag had this to say...
You can also read the tweet of our sweet Lala which shows the
difference in the mindset of the two. But, we are not only about sweet and
love. Rashid Latif, ex-Pakistani cricket great responded to Sehwag’s nonsense in
a not so subtle way and we loved it, “Liquid form” everyone.
And let’s not forget Amir Liaqat Hussain’s befitting surgical
strike on Rishi “Kapoor”, the contents of which might be inappropriate for
some.
While this fight might prolong a little longer, all we can
think of is this.. Mazak ko serious mat
liyo bete.
Finally
moving on to the final match, there were a lot of predictions and speculations
one of which caught my eye and actually mattered.
Well, true that..
Pakistan started their batting and Fakhar Zaman
(which we clearly forgot to mention earlier that he truly is the Fakhar of Pakistan) got out to
a no ball, one of the many miracles we saw happening for Pakistan team during
this Champions Trophy, some would say that it is the month of
Ramadhan that brought them the luck-surely it did. All those prayers…
He went on to play an exhilarating knock and made a century
in the all-important match. Azhar Ali and Babar Azam provided a big support in
putting up a big total. And then another miracle happened which refers to a
picture above in favor of Hafeez. Hafeez came in and conquered and made sure,
along with Imad Wasim, that Pakistan crosses the 300 run barrier. Pakistan will
now have to bear him for another two years but that’s just how the Professor is
- deal with it he is not going anywhere.
Hafeez managed to put up a very healthy total on
the scorecard and even we were wondering this..
India started their run chase by relying heavily on their
world class number one batting line-up in the world but who would have thought
that Muhammad Amir would prove to be so much effective that he managed to get
the first three Indian batters out in a jiffy, including the wickets of Rohit
Sharma (ordinary bowler = Amir) and Virat Kholi (ODI Ranking = 1). After that
they were always going to be under pressure which leads us to our next
picture..
Hasan Ali and Shahdab Khan had their share of wickets with
Hasan Ali taking the last wicket of Bumrah (talented bowler) to finish things
up for Pakistan and becoming the leading wicket taker of the tournament. There
were scenes of heart-warming jubilation with our team performing Sajday on the field and thanking Almighty
Allah. Trophy moments ahead..
Someone please explain to me why is Shehzada (Ahmad) so
happy. Seeing him happy makes me sad (All humor).
Thank You Team Pakistan for giving us the memories which we
will remember through generations. Pakistan Zindabad!!.
P.S: Found this on the internet..
FYI, Kashmir hamesha
sae hi hamara hai.. Love.
Picture abhi baki ha meray dost....
